First Day at new Daycare

Today was Zoe's first full day at her new daycare. She had a tearless drop-off this morning, which was great. She was super happy, as you can see here. Par of the reason she was so happy is that mommy took her to CVS to get her a bottle of nail polish and paint up her nails the night before. She sat so well and was excited to show them off. And you can still see the fading tattoo on her forearm. Hopefully tomorrow will be just as good, if not better, than today.

Hanging Out With Joe Pop

Zoe and I had a chance to hang out with Joe Pop and Lilly. They had a lot of fun at the house playing with water, bouncing on the giant balls, watching videos on YouTube and playing with Auntie Joe. Joe Pop showed me a great way to keep the ball bouncing down when your tired. Just kick the ball across the yard and say, "Oh no! The wind took it! Go get the ball." Worked every time. After all of that, we had a nice sit down meal at Burger King followed by some time on their outdoor playground. It is always funny to see how things have changed, since I used to play on that same playground when I was a kid. All of the fun (read dangerous) metal equipment is gone in place of still fun, but safer, plastic equipment.   The two girls had a lot of fun running around and sliding down the different slides. The static that was generated from these made Zoe hair stand up but, unfortunately, I wasn't able to capture that. After lunch and the playground, we took a qui

Where Have I Been?

Holy crap! I haven't made a blog post in how long?!?! That's just unacceptable. What's wrong with me? Okay, don't answer that last one. I wanted to post an apology to all of the loyal followers of this blog. I can make a myriad of excuses as to why there hasn't been a new post in over a month, and they would all be true, but the fact of the matter is that I just haven't taken the time. For that, I apologize. That being said, one of the biggest hold ups is that I get pictures that I need to process, I don't do that for a while, then I don't make the post about them, and so on, and so on. I will do my best to post more regularly. This means that larger events might get skipped until I have time to work on them, but other than appearing out of chronological order, nothing should change. We'll see how long I can keep this up. So as to not make this post be totally about me, I leave you with a picture of Cheryl and Zoe making mustaches.

Our Little Superhero

The other night one of Zoe's prizes was a little mask. Initially, she wasn't too keen on it, but after she saw mommy and daddy wear it, she had to have it. After that, she needed to have her cape too. Her cape is a Penn t-shirt collar with the back of the shirt attached, but the front and sleeves removed. Here are a few pictures of her running around the playroom. It's great to know that there are people like Zoe running around, saving the world. You can see more of our little superhero in the Random Zoe set on Flickr.

Down On The Farm With The Twins

This past weekend we all loaded in the car and met up with the Strouts to enjoy some time on the farm. Zoe loves Ben and Julia and you can't say their names around her without Zoe clamoring to see them. Thankfully, she got to see them. First, she really wanted to hold Julia's hand and walk with her. Julia wasn't so sure about that. After a lot of playing, it was time to sit down and have a snack. It was Apple Day, so there was a huge box of apples to pick from. Zoe loves apples, so that was a must. They also had chocolate milk, which she also needed. Poor Zoe got clocked in the face with the soap dispenser the day before, which is why she has that mark on the bridge of her nose. It feel off the side of the tub and just caught her there. I still feel bad about it. The nice thing was that she didn't let a little bump on the nose bring her down. There are more pictures available in the At the Far set on Flickr.

At Clark Park with Charis

This past Sunday, Charis' parents were moving and in order to help them do that more easily, we agreed to watch her for the day. After we spent some time inside, we pulled the double stroller out of the basement and took a walk to Clark Park. There the girls sat on the turtle, shared and snack and enjoyed some swinging. Okay, maybe they didn't so much enjoy a snack as eat while giving each other dirty looks (I have no idea why that happened), but overall it was a great afternoon. There are a few more pictures in the set on Flickr.
