Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Yesterday Cheryl, Zoe and I went to the Trenton Thunder game where we met a number of family and friends. Before we could take her to the game, Cheryl wanted to make sure Zoe was nice and clean. Here's what Zoe looks like when she's playing in the tub. By the time we made it to the game, Zoe was due for a nap. She got over tired a fussed for a bit, but eventually fell asleep in the bjorn and woke up all smiles. We only took a few pictures, but here they are. As always, you can see these and other photos in Zoe's set on Flickr.

4 Month Checkup

Zoe went in for her 4 month doctor's visit today and everything looked good. Her height, weight and skull size are all progressing normally, although some are in higher percentiles than others. She weighed in at 13lbs. 10.4ozs and measured 25.25 inches in length. More importantly, she was in good spirits. Here are a few pictures and a video from my phone. I learned a valuable lesson today, no matter how many toys you bring, the child will play with whatever they want to play with. In this case, the paper cover for the table. Don't forget to check out Zoe's set on Flickr for these and other photos.

Life's a Beach

There was water trouble down at the shore house this weekend, so Cheryl, Zoe and I spent a long weekend together. I had hoped to take lots of pictures and make multiple posts here, but obviously that did not happen. We did go up to the Oxford Valley Pool on Sunday, which was great, but I forgot to bring the camera. The only pictures I have are the ones stolen from Facebook. We did manage to take come other pictures during the week and on the weekend. She is now an expert at holding her head up, even in her Bumbo chair. Zoe has also become fairly adept with her feet, using them to grasp at things. The family also went to visit a new baby this weekend. On Saturday we went to see George John Miller IV born on July 20th weighing in at 8lbs 9ozs and measuring 20.5 inches long. He's sure to be one of Zoe's friends. On Monday we were able to get a short video of Zoe rolling over from her back to her stomach all by herself. She seemed to get stuck at one point, but sh

Just Like Her Mother... Adorable

The other day I had Zoe in her jump-a-roo. For those of you that don't know, this is a contraption that holds the baby upright and while she jumps around it makes all sorts of noises and lights up. Zoe isn't quite big enough for it, but that doesn't mean that we don't let her try it out. Here's a little video of her either really enjoying it or being incredibly frustrated by it. Today Cheryl took some more pictures. Just like her mother used to, Zoe looks like she's enjoying sucking her thumb. These are the most flattering angles, but they are incredibly adorable. As always, you can check out Zoe's set on Flickr for these, and more. How did I ever get so lucky?

4 Months Old

Zoe turned 4 months old today. All weekend she was fairly sleepy, so we didn't do much except take some pictures. Here are some of those. After we took the pictures to document her 4 month birthday, Zoe and I were playing around on the bed. I would stand her up and let her fall back down on the bed, in a gentle fashion, of course. She seemed to love it, but maybe I'm wrong. Let's go to the pictures. This afternoon we went out to meet some friends and Zoe seemed to have a good time hanging out with everyone. I think she just likes to get out of the house sometimes. There's only so many hours a day she can stay inside and stare at her parents.

Old People, New Stuff and Singing

Researching my family history is something that I have always wanted to do, but I have never taken the time to do it. Well last weekend I started doing it because I really want Zoe to know who her family is and where she came from. I'm also curious to see just how far back I can go. In certain family lines I have (I believe) identified 5th great grandparents, which is just crazy. Once I have a good, solid base of information, I'll post something here for all to see. If you have any information about someone related to Zoe, please don't hesitate to share it with me. I can use all the help I can get. Since I don't have any pictures from the family tree at this time, here are some that Cheryl took of Zoe in front of her mirror. We started setting up some new things for Zoe. One was a new jump-a-roo, which she really isn't big enough for yet. We have to put a blanket in the back to keep her from slumping over and place a large graphic novel (The Walking Dead Vo

Keeping Cool

This weekend saw some pretty high temperatures for our area at this time of the year. Enough to keep us (mostly) indoors, although Cheryl is much better and getting up and out of the house early for a quick walk while it's still cool. Regardless, on Saturday I don't think I left the house. When Cheryl and Zoe got back from their walk, I wanted to take some pictures. This is what I got. Of course, taking pictures is hard work. After I was done, both me and the pea decided to take a nap. We didn't realize Cheryl would be waiting for us to fall asleep so she could grab the camera. Today we managed to get out of the house twice. First, the three of us went to brunch where Zoe was very well behaved. On the second outing I took the camera with me to see if Zoe would cooperate while in her Bjorn. You may notice the fancy new bib on the carrier. That's all Cheryl's doing and it turned out great. You can check out Zoe's set on Flickr to see these, and m

Fourth of July

For the Fourth of July, the family went up to my older brother's house to hang out, eat some grilled meat and see Zoe's cousin Harlie. I was able to take some pictures of her with Joe and Gigi while Zoe fussed and slept in Harlie's crib. As always, it was nice to see the family and hang out for a few hours. That is one cute baby! You can see these and other pictures in Harlie's set on Flickr. Not to be outdone, today Zoe was wearing the same outfit she plans to have on this weekend when the temperature is supposed to go over 100. Laying on the floor of her room with her peek-a-boo bear, she showed off her assets. Like always, Zoe's set on Flickr has these and more pictures. Since the weather should be pretty unbearable this weekend, we will most likely stay in, which I hope will lead to some more great pictures.
