Story Time and Chair Sitting

Cheryl has been a lot better than I have about consistently reading to Zoe. She typically reads two books every day. The other day, she didn't have a chance to read while I was at work. We put Zoe on her changing table, because it's pretty much her favorite place in the whole apartment, and she got a story. It's interesting to see her actually look at the pictures. Today Cheryl was posing Zoe in the chair in her room so that we can get a nice one month picture of her. She made some very interesting faces. Some cute, others, not so much. Here are a couple. Like always, find these are more pictures in Zoe's set on Flickr.

Sunday Lazy Sunday

Hopefully this doesn't jinx anything, but last night Zoe gave her mother and I the best night of sleep we've had in a while. Now that's not to say that we don't get enough sleep every night, but for Cheryl, it is typically broken up into lots of little pieces; however, last night she was able to get a nice long stretch. I'm not sure if it was the marathon sleeping, but today seemed to just be a lazy day. Earlier mom and daughter just sat on the couch enjoying each others company. Following that, Zoe stayed a short stint on her changing table. We're not sure why she likes it so much there, but I don't question it. Now you may notice an uptick in the number of pictures of my two favorite ladies. That would be due to two things. First, I just like taking pictures of my family and second, Cheryl traded in her old camera for a new one, which she has graciously allowed me to use. With that, here are some gratuitous bath pictures. Early in the afternoo

33 Days, 33 Years

Today Zoe turned 33 days old and as she did I turned 33 years old. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the family decided to take a trip down to Seaside Heights. Everyone loves the shore and daddy particularly loves old school arcade and pinball games. We made it down there by noon and left at 4:30pm. In between there were some prizes won, many games played, several deep friend Oreos consumed and even a short stay on the beach. You can see Zoe and her father (the lifeguard) down by the water. A wonderful time was had by all. I wanted to make sure to thank Cheryl and Zoe again for such a nice, relaxing day. Turning 33 never felt so good. You can see a few other pictures, include a montage of Zoe's wake up routine, in her Flickr set .

One Month Old

Zoe turns 1 month old today, and it is incredible to continue to see the changes in her. We set her up to take a nice picture, then later in the day, once it cooled off a bit, mommy strapped on the Moby and we went for a walk around Clark Park. Along with that, she had her first real bath in her new whale tub. Now I'm not sure which one or what combination of these things did this, but she has been passed out for the majority of the second half of the day. And as I have learned very early on, there is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby. You can see this, along with some pictures of Zoe hanging out with her BFF Tinkerbell, all in her set on Flickr.

Friday the 13th!

Today's was Zoe's first Friday the 13th! She didn't seem too scared, which made me very proud. So after she ate around 8:00pm this evening, I thought it might be best to celebrate the occasion. Here are a couple of photos to document the event. We are very excited for more festive and costume worth occasions. There are a few other pictures of Zoe just being a lazy baby over in her set on Flickr.

4 Weeks Old

Today Zoe turns 4 weeks old. It's amazing how quickly the time passes. She now seems to focus on specific objects or sounds, whereas before she would just stare off into space, preferably out a window. A routine of eating, sleeping and being awake seems to have established itself and I can only hope that it continues. Only 3 more days until she's 1 month old! Along with turning 4 weeks old today she received her first bottle feeding from daddy. She wasn't supposed to get the bottle until around 11:00pm, but she was fussing at 9:30pm so she got it early. So in another couple hours she will be getting her second bottle from daddy. Hopefully she takes it as well as the first and lets her mother get a nice, long, continuous stretch of sleep. For everyone who is looking for more pictures, I promise you they're coming.

First Easter

At 24 days old Zoe had her first Easter today. I had tried to take some pictures before today, but she wasn't being very cooperative. Thankfully she was good and tired this morning so I was able to take these. Later today we packed up the car and headed to Mimi and Joe Pop's for dinner. She got to wear her nice new dress and spend some time with family. You can take a look at Zoe's set for these and other pictures.

Visit from Nana and Poppy

To make sure she didn't forget about her parent's birthday's, Cheryl gave them their presents on the day of the baby shower. For her father, she got a nice webcam so that we could Skype with them to interact with Zoe. A few weeks ago we had done that for the first time and it actually worked out really well. So on Monday, April 2nd, Cheryl's parents came up from Florida to meet Zoe face to face for the first time. On one day Cheryl and Zoe went to Clark Park with Nana and Poppy. Later in the week Cheryl's sister Debbie came by with her daughters, Zoe's cousins, Ashlee and Taylor. Just before they left, Cheryl remembered to take a picture. Here's Zoe with her cousin Taylor. As always, you can find all of these pictures and more in Zoe's Set on Flickr.

Zoe's First Photobooth

For those of you who know Cheryl, you will know that she has a thing for old school photobooths. Not the new digital ones, but the chemically processed, actual photo photobooths. So on April 1st Cheryl, Zoe and I took a trip across the Ben Franklin to Camden to pay a visit to Millennium Skate World. They have a great color photobooth that was just begging to have 17 day old in it. Here are the results of our trip.

Work work work

So last Thursday I came back to work. It hasn't been hard getting back into the swing of things. We're really busy so there is always plenty to do; however, it has been hard leaving every morning. It was nice to spend the days with my two favorite ladies, and I know that there will be plenty of time to spend with them, I just miss them. Thankfully, I have some pictures at my cluttered desk to remind me of what I have to look forward to when I get home. Well, time to get back to work.
