Carusos and Haunted House

After our time trunk or treating we stopped by Mimi and Joe Pop's house, since it was on the way home. We met the Carusos there and the kids had a great time playing together. Annabelle and Zoe were riding on an alligator. Then they were flying on an airplane. It was a lot of fun to run around and play in the backyard. The next day Zoe wanted to build our haunted gingerbread house. This is becoming a twice a year tradition where she partly helps to build the house, but mostly eats the candy decorations. The house turned out great. It looks just like the box. You can see more pictures of the concentration that Zoe uses to build the house in our Halloween 2015 album on Flickr.

Trunk or Treat

This year for Halloween Zoe wanted us to dress up like characters from Wreck-It Ralph. If you don't know what that is you can check out the official site . With our costumes picked out we put everything together and made our way into New Jersey for our first Trunk or Treat. This is an event where parents get together before Halloween to allow their children to trick or treat knowing that the treats they are getting will not clash with any allergies. This helps prevent unnecessary crying when a child is told they cannot have something because they're not allowed to eat it. So this is what we looked like when we arrived on the scene. Along with that we had to decorate our trunk with the theme of our costumes. I made a scoreboard, that Zoe would sit in front of a recite the names of the racers, and Cheryl made all of the grandstands for the candy. We didn't know this, but apparently you can vote on your favorite set up. Some people were actually asking for our nu

Long Hair and Smiles

Zoe agreed to let Cheryl use the blow dryer on her hair, as long as it was on a low setting that made the least amount of noise. It stripped the curl right out of her hair, but made it really long. I think she really liked it. Our little princess.

Digital Drawing and More Trick or Treating

My office, for some unknown reason, is one of Zoe's favorite places to go. Maybe because it's different. Maybe because she can see her picture and artwork. I don't know. Anyway, the last time I took her there she was drawing on the whiteboard in my office when I decided to take her into another room. There we have a digital display where you can draw on it with an electronic pen. She really took to it and thought it was a lot of fun. Here she is engrossed in her work. Now she did make a number of requests for me to draw things, which I did, but then she would typically color over them. You can see a digital version of her artwork (PDF) if you like. On the walk home from the office it got a little cold so I put on her Olaf blanket and she wore my hat. It didn't take her long to pass out. The next day all three of us went to Sesame Place to do another round of trick or treating. Since mommy was with us, there were a lot more pictures taken. We got to get some tr

Trick or Treat at Sesame

It was early in the month, but since the weather was nice and she was excited, I took Zoe up to Sesame Place to do some trick or treating. She went last year and had a great time and this time was no different. She didn't pose for many pictures, but I was able to get a few. She really enjoyed all of the treats, as well as seeing the characters. We'll probably go again later in the month since it'll be decorated for a while.
