More Snow and the New House

Zoe wanted to play outside in the snow again while Cheryl and I did a little more shoveling. This time Zoe wanted to do some baking, so there was a lot of kitchen implements and large chunks of snow being carried around. And, of course, some sampling of the food that was being prepared. There was also a little shoveling while this was going on. Thanks mommy! Then there was a lot of climbing, exploring and general rolling about in the snow. All of which was a lot of fun. This was a lot of fun. Later in the day Joe Pop stopped by so that we could make our way up to the new house to make sure the sidewalk and driveway were shoveled. While we were there Zoe got to try out her new sled and investigate the icicles behind the bushes. That kid certainly loves the snow. I hope we can go snow tubing at some point this year. I know Cheryl is scared of it, but I think Zoe will love it.

A Lot of Snow and a Few Cookies

We got a LOT of snow this weekend. I don't think Zoe has ever seen snow like this before. First, we had to dig out of the house. She was excited just to stand in the little path. Next she wanted to taste it, to make sure the snow was fresh. Of course we directed her to only eat the snow on the top and to avoid any snow that was yellow. She thought it was delicious. Then the snow starting flying. To be fair, I believe that I started it. Once tensions settled it was time for snow angels. Zoe was quick to flop right down in the snow and start moving her arms and legs. I don't think she has ever done this before, but she took to it like a natural. Finally, before heading back inside, we dug out a little fort. From our defended position, we could easily throw snow at mommy without being hit from her snow. It was awesome! When we got inside Zoe wanted to make some cookies. Cheryl rolled out the dough and let Zoe cut the cookies out. Once they were baked we all

Aquarium and the Movies

Zoe hadn't been to the aquarium, better known as the fish museum, in quite some time. This past Saturday Cheryl took her there and she enjoyed it just as much as she always did. She really enjoyed posing with the statues of the animals. After that, it was on to the hippos. When I saw the first picture, I wanted to ask when they let the kids pet them. Then I realized there was glass between them. Before they left, Cheryl made sure to take a quick selfie. I really love my two gorgeous girls. Zoe's daycare was closed on Monday, so I took the day off to hang out with Little Miss. I decided that we would go up to see The Peanuts movie. Zoe was excited to get her usual of a large popcorn and a blue ICEE. Here she is enjoying both with Rainbow Dash. She was very well behaved, but we didn't stay for the whole movie. I'm not sure if it just didn't appeal to her, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Braids, Secrets and Witches

It wouldn't be accurate to say that Zoe is obsessed with hair, but she does like having her hair braided. She also wishes she had hair down to the floor, but I'm not sure that will ever happen. The other day Cheryl gave Zoe some very nice braids. I don't recall how long they lasted, but she looked super cute while they were in. Then, while at Wendy's, Zoe had some secrets to share. I was more than happy to listen. Of course, all of the secrets were just varying fart noises directed right into my ear, but it was still very entertaining. Finally, we were going to school when Zoe found a stick shaped like a Y on the ground. She has been watching the movie Coraline a lot recently and so I asked her if she was a water witch. She just stood their and smiled. Of course, Coraline doesn't have a binky, but that okay. Hopefully, some day, Zoe won't have one either.

New Year's Eve

For New Year's Eve this year we invited the Strout's over to hang out and celebrate with us. All of us made our way to Vietnam and the kids were having a really good time. They looked super cute all sitting together, even if they wouldn't pose for a picture. There were a lot of spoons on the table and I thought it would be a good idea to show the kids how to use them as glasses. Zoe and Julia did a great job at wearing their spoons. They were adorable. It was a long night of celebrating and everyone had fun. Zoe and I took an early nap in the new year to make sure we were rested up and ready to go. Happy New Year!
