Derby and Carusos

When it's time for physical activity, we tend to cram as much of it into one day as humanly possible. Today was no exception as it started off with roller derby practice at 10:00am, followed by an hour wait in the bowling alley arcade followed by an hour long bounce session at Altitude with the Carusos. First, Zoe made it through another roller derby practice. Her skating is getting so good. Once practice was over, Zoe and I grabbed a quick lunch before heading to meet the Carusos at the bowling alley. There was a wait for a lane, so we all went over to the arcade. The kids really enjoyed the motorcycle racing game. Annabelle and Zoe took turns crashing it into walls and other racers. The game actually allows you to take your picture before you start racing so that, if you're racing against someone else, they can see your face in the game as they pass you. I managed to photo bomb the one time they actually tried to do this. The other games they were really

Philly Roller Derby Juniors

It has been almost a month since Zoe's first practice with the Philly Roller Derby (PRD) Juniors and she really enjoys it. Her skating has improved in the past few weeks where she is now faster and more stable on her feet. During her latest practice, where Mimi and Joe Pop came to spectate, I took a few pictures. Zoe wants to have her birthday party at The Palace again this year. Hopefully she won't hip check any of the other skaters on the rink. After practice we all went to grab lunch at Wendy's and Zoe was sure to ham it up for all of us. These pictures really help to capture her classic beauty. There's a PRD Juniors album on Flickr that has even more pictures of her skating without any of the gaping mouth antics.

Winter Formal 2019

This year the Girls Night Out Dance was changed to the Winter Formal, allowing any student to bring any parent they wanted. While I offered to let Cheryl go with Zoe, they both insisted that I attend. It was a lucky thing that I had a new suit to wear to this fancy get together. We posed for a few pictures at home, which were a little blurry but still capture the mood. With the lighting in the gym at the school, there was no chance of getting any good pictures, but I was able to take some video of Zoe dancing and having a good time. She got those sweet dance moves from yours truly. Even though I wasn't able to take any (good) pictures at the dance, they did have a digital photobooth area set up where you could go and get some pictures taken. Zoe and I were able to come up with a nice set. This year there was more dancing, less snacking, and zero chin ups. I'm not sure if that's an improvement, but it was definitely different. There are a few more pictures
