Paris - The Photobooth Strips

One of the things that we did all across Paris was visit the photobooths. I may have mentioned that once or twice in previous posts. Anyway, those pictures have been scanned and added to Flickr, so I thought I would share them here. The first two strips here are from the booth in Palais de Tokyo, taken on May 16th. The next two are from the Bon Ton store on Boulevard des Filles du Calvaire, taken on May 17th. The last two were also taken on the 17th at la Maison Rouge. The first strip here was also from the 17th at la Maison Rouge. The next three were taken at a booth on rue d'Aubervillers on May 19th, while the last two were taken at a booth on Rue des Trois Freres, also on the 19th. These three strips were all taken at the booth out in Buttes Chaumont. The first one was taken on May 20th, when I was scouting out the booth to make sure it was there and functioning. The next two were taken on the 21st, when all three of us went out there. This last set goes against

Paris - Day Seven: Klimt Exhibit, Photobooth Again, Boat Ride, Dessert Roulette

For our last day we had tickets to a Gustav Klimt exhibit titled Atelierdes Lumieres. That's probably missing a number of accent marks, but needless to say, we have never seen anything like this. The hook of this exhibition was that it was held in a giant warehouse sized space that had plain concrete walls and floors. All of the artwork was then projected over the walls and floor of the space while classical music played. This description doesn't come close to capturing it, so hopefully some of these pictures will. It was so interesting that I kept taking pictures of the floor as it changed from scene to scene. There were also a few other nooks and crannies in the place, like this spot that was full of mirrors so it looked like you were standing inside infinity. This also does a poor job of capturing how cool this was, but here's a short video of the start of one of the three exhibits and how it is painted across the space. Once we left the exhi

Paris - Day Six: Photobooth Bust, More Macaroons, Savory Crepes, Eiffel Tower at Night

Cheryl started out the day with another run through Paris. She saw lots of sites, and lots of other runners. Zoe and I slept in a bit to prepare for the day. The first stop on today's tour was a photobooth that was in a part of the city that there was nothing else we wanted to see. Unfortunately, this booth was in a night club that wasn't open for breakfast, so we only got to see it through the window. Thankfully Zoe was willing to pose for us, and there was some street art to look at. Since we didn't have any plans for this day, we decided to head back to Luxembourg Gardens so Zoe could play on the awesome playground. While she played, I went out to get everyone some drinks. I wound up grabbing some sort of lychee drink, which Zoe really enjoyed. Although the playground was a lot of fun, Zoe is a social animal and she was getting frustrated as she tried to talk to a number of kids, but none of them understood her and she didn't understand them. Luckily, just
