Such An Angel... Sometimes

There's no doubt about it, Zoe is a good kid. No, seriously. I know I joke about a lot of stuff, and believe me, she can throw a tantrum with the worst of them, but overall Zoe is really sweet, well behaved and listens when you ask her to do something. I took her to a music class not so long ago and she just looked really cute while we waited for the studio to open.

She sat and waited so patiently and then went crazy on the drums. The other night I'm not sure what got in to her, but she was just acting crazy in her playroom. I was able to capture a few good moments on video. See for yourself.

She can also be super silly, which I find incredibly fun. The other night when I was putting her down for bed, she was laying on the changing table when she put her fingers in her ears and just started to laugh. It was so bizarre that I started to laugh too, which got her going again. That went on for a couple minutes before I actually put her in her crib.

Inevitably, with those fun times come the not so fun times. Soon you'll see our Christmas card that will be made from the pictures we had taken. What you won't see is the tantrum that took place during the photo shoot where, with candy in mouth Zoe threw herself to the floor, spit out her M&Ms and then climbed up to her hands and knees to reclaim the expelled candy. After she dusted herself off, I gave her a ride in a clothes cart in the changing room. When I asked her to smile, she did this.

She's so pretty. The other day Cheryl asked her to smile and she got this lovely picture.

Yeah, that's supposed to be a smile. Now let's be serious, is that a mini-Cheryl or is that a mini-Cheryl?

Meet the Flintstones?!?

Cheryl wanted me to share the following with everyone. These are her words, not mine. Frankly, I know I'm the lucky one. So obviously the blog is Michael's thing, which is great really because if it were up to me it would have started and ended with 99 days left! But I wanted to make a post so I could thank Michael for everything he has done for me throughout this pregnancy and most of all during delivery. There is no question that being with Michael is the smartest thing I've ever done and Zoe is lucky to call him Dad. The reason we had a planned c-section was that Zoe was 'unstable lie'. In the 4 weeks before she was due she was breech, head down, breech, and then head down again. As it was explained to us, this is pretty rare. They expected that even if she was in the right position when I went into labor, she would turn during contractions creating a dangerous situation for all of us. The day of surgery I was still pretty calm. Once I was prepp...

Zoe Ninja Warrior

In looking for something to do over the weekend, Cheryl found a gym nearby that has Ninja Warrior equipment and allows children Zoe's age. They had an open drop in time on Sunday from 4:45pm to 7:15pm. To prepare for her day, Zoe put on her exercise outfit, added some body glitter on her shoulders and then used markers to make some tattoos. She looked especially cute and tough. Once we got in, she was all over the place: running up the wrapped wall, swinging on the ropes and rings, jumping on the trampoline. She tried so many times to get up that wall. As soon as the boy in front of her got up it, she was up on her next run. That's a 10 foot wall. Two and a half times her height, and was right up it. She was so excited to get up that thing. Cheryl and I even got in on the action, trying out the different equipment. Here she is, looking amazing at the apex of a bounce on the big trampoline. Zoe was also all over the gymnastics equipment. She really enjoyed sw...

She Poops Because She Cares

One week ago today, Zoe was born. She seems to have adjusted to life in West Philly fairly well. Her pink blanket is one of her favorites to snuggle up with; however, we did learn that much like her father, she hates to bathe. So her first appointment with the peditrician was Wednesday at 11:00am. She seemed to enjoy her ride in the car again, and by that I mean she was passed out the whole way there. The doctor said she was looking good. The jaundice that she had in the hospital is no longer a concern now that she's eating and going to the bathroom regularly. Also, she's working her way back up to her birth weight. After being born at 8lbs 8ozs, she dropped down to 7lbs 13ozs when she was discharged from the hospital. At her appointment she weighed in at 8lbs 3ozs. Later in the day while I was out shopping for essentials (and comic books) Zoe was getting fussy with her mother. We're not entirely sure what the issue was, but we did find out that she loves her swing....
