Just One Day Away

Yesterday I took a late flight out to Seattle. I will be spending the next 3 days with the Carusos before I head to a work conference. This morning I woke up to greet Annabelle and Baby John. We had a really fun day going to the pool, playing games and just hanging around the house. Here are a few pictures I took.

I was able to take a short video of Baby John and I playing catch. He was eager to play, I just wish he was happy.

While I was of spending time with the Caruso family, Cheryl and Zoe were at home having some fun of their own. They went to Johnson's Family Farm and had a good day picking blueberries, feeding animals corn (and eating some of their own) and having ice cream while laying down.

Zoe woke up last night, so I'm hoping that she sleeps through tonight, and the rest of the nights I'm away. It was nice to see them over Skype, even if Zoe wanted to "play ABCD on the pequekey." It's also great to be out in Seattle to visit with my godchildren, but I really miss my family and can't wait to get back.

Election Day

When Zoe was born, Barack Obama was the president. Today the country is voting to determine who will be president for the next four years. It will still be a long time before Zoe gets to cast her own vote, but when Cheryl got home today, the two of them went around the corner to our voting center and did their civic duty. Cheryl took a couple of pictures. The girls are asleep now, and the race is still too close to call, but I assume when we get up tomorrow (hopefully not in the middle of the night) we'll know who who won. I hope everyone got out to vote today! As you can see by her sticker, Zoe did.

Riding Together for the First Time

Today my bike was finally fixed, so I picked it up from the shop before picking Zoe up from Science Club. When she saw my bike she was very excited to go for a ride. It was overcast all day, but the weather held out and it was a beautiful evening, so we rushed home, she finished all her homework, and I loaded her bike onto the car. I packed a bag with some water and a couple snacks and we made our way to Lorimer Park. Before we took off down the trail, I wanted to take a selfie, but I was so excited that I forgot my helmet, so there are two selfies. As soon as I finished the picture she took off down the path. Fortunately I was able to catch up, phone in hand, to take a few pictures as we cruised down the trail. I am a mostly competent bike rider, but trying to pay attention to her, and the trail, and keep myself upright while holding my phone was tricky. So, I decided to take some video where, for the most part, I could rest my hand on the handlebars. She is so good a...

Baby Shower

Today the family was headed to George and Amanda's baby shower. Before we even got ready, I was playing with Zoe in bed. She was just sitting on my stomach, staring at her feet and drooling. Here are a few pictures. After play time, we had to get ready to head out. Zoe wore a nice dress, even if it was a little big on her. I took a picture of her in it before we left, then a bunch more of her while we were outside. Take a look and Zoe and Cheryl together. They're so cute! Those two are so gorgeous on their own that they become simply stunning when put together. I just can't get enough. Anyway, if you take a look at all of these, and more, in Zoe's set on Flickr, you can see all of the detail in the drool. It's really quite amazing.
