We had such a great time down the beach again. It was awesome to see that the pipe was no longer on the beach, since it sounded like it would be there all week. The first day there we decided to head down to Wildwood to go on the rides. One of the first things Zoe wanted to go on was the swings, which was amazing considering she's not too thrilled about going on actual swings at the playground. She loved it!
After that we stopped to get some ice cream. She wasn't happy to share with me, but she shared all the same.
We then went on one of my favorite rides, the Seagul Cycle, followed by the Ghost Ship. The Cycle is a track ride that is pedal powered. Think of a peddle boat on a metal track that goes above a water park. The Ghost Ship is essentially the automated version of the Cycle that follows a similar track in the opposite direction. Both are lots of fun.
After that is was even more rides, followed by some games where at least one prize was won.
Towards the end of the day were two extraordinary things took place. First, we stumbled across some large stuffed animals that kids could ride on. Zoe was doing well on her own, but when her steering faltered, she insisted that mommy ride with her. Mommy was such a trooper. There was no way I was going to get on that tiger!
The other thing was that they had gas powered go carts. Now Zoe wasn't tall enough to drive one herself, but she was really interested in going. As it turns out, as long as an adult is driving, someone Zoe's size can ride along. We got in and I started driving around and assumed she was just going to scream and cry that it was too loud and she didn't like it; however, she loved it. Every turn, every bump in the boardwalk, she just laughed louder and smiled wider. It was only until about the third lap that I realized that her steering wheel could actually control the wheel. I let her steer on the straightaway, but took over for the turns.
It was a long, fun day at Wildwood. I can't wait to go back and ride the rides all over again!
