Memorial Day Weekend - Wildwood

We made our way south to Wildwood, which is one of our favorite spots for games and rides. The first stop was the arcade. Zoe was quick to get her first prize, a Hello Kitty, and I had a turn in the crazy, money grabbing, cyclone box.

Those things are definitely not as easy as they look. After that it was off to some rides. First up were the family favorites: The Seagull Cycle and the Ghost Ships. Both are awesome, but one of them can be a little scary.

After those two it was on to the rest of the rides. Zoe was on the swings, the boats, the trucks. You name it and she road it.

Those swings were the first time that she was ever on a ride by herself. She's getting so big! When we made it to the end of the boardwalk, she took a seat in one of the prop go carts. After I checked the sign and realized we could ride together, we got in line and took a spin around the track.

She had a great time zipping around the track. It was an awesome, long day and we all slept very well once we got home.

Election Day

When Zoe was born, Barack Obama was the president. Today the country is voting to determine who will be president for the next four years. It will still be a long time before Zoe gets to cast her own vote, but when Cheryl got home today, the two of them went around the corner to our voting center and did their civic duty. Cheryl took a couple of pictures. The girls are asleep now, and the race is still too close to call, but I assume when we get up tomorrow (hopefully not in the middle of the night) we'll know who who won. I hope everyone got out to vote today! As you can see by her sticker, Zoe did.

Riding Together for the First Time

Today my bike was finally fixed, so I picked it up from the shop before picking Zoe up from Science Club. When she saw my bike she was very excited to go for a ride. It was overcast all day, but the weather held out and it was a beautiful evening, so we rushed home, she finished all her homework, and I loaded her bike onto the car. I packed a bag with some water and a couple snacks and we made our way to Lorimer Park. Before we took off down the trail, I wanted to take a selfie, but I was so excited that I forgot my helmet, so there are two selfies. As soon as I finished the picture she took off down the path. Fortunately I was able to catch up, phone in hand, to take a few pictures as we cruised down the trail. I am a mostly competent bike rider, but trying to pay attention to her, and the trail, and keep myself upright while holding my phone was tricky. So, I decided to take some video where, for the most part, I could rest my hand on the handlebars. She is so good a...

Baby Shower

Today the family was headed to George and Amanda's baby shower. Before we even got ready, I was playing with Zoe in bed. She was just sitting on my stomach, staring at her feet and drooling. Here are a few pictures. After play time, we had to get ready to head out. Zoe wore a nice dress, even if it was a little big on her. I took a picture of her in it before we left, then a bunch more of her while we were outside. Take a look and Zoe and Cheryl together. They're so cute! Those two are so gorgeous on their own that they become simply stunning when put together. I just can't get enough. Anyway, if you take a look at all of these, and more, in Zoe's set on Flickr, you can see all of the detail in the drool. It's really quite amazing.
