Stand In The Place Where You Play, Now Face West

Cheryl and I have been telling one another that we'll take more video, but most times that we try, as soon as the camera comes out, Zoe isn't having it. Well the other day I was able to set up the camera off to the side and actually record some interactions between the two of us. The footage is a bit out of focus, so I have to work on that, but I think the result is pretty awesome.

Today we wanted to take some pictures to document Zoe's growth, since her 10 month birthday was just this past week. She loves standing all around her playroom, especially next to the shelves that have all of her books and toys. Here's what we got.

After that we packed up the car and went up to visit the Strout's. It had been a long time since we had seen them and it was a very lovely visit. I can't wait to get back to see them again soon. You know you can check out Zoe's set on Flickr to see all of these pictures and more; however, did you know that there is a Zoe Month by Month set on Flickr too? That one allows you to see her progression through the months as she gets older. I just organized it to make sure it is in the proper order and it is amazing to see the growth that has happened in such a short amount of time.

Election Day

When Zoe was born, Barack Obama was the president. Today the country is voting to determine who will be president for the next four years. It will still be a long time before Zoe gets to cast her own vote, but when Cheryl got home today, the two of them went around the corner to our voting center and did their civic duty. Cheryl took a couple of pictures. The girls are asleep now, and the race is still too close to call, but I assume when we get up tomorrow (hopefully not in the middle of the night) we'll know who who won. I hope everyone got out to vote today! As you can see by her sticker, Zoe did.

Riding Together for the First Time

Today my bike was finally fixed, so I picked it up from the shop before picking Zoe up from Science Club. When she saw my bike she was very excited to go for a ride. It was overcast all day, but the weather held out and it was a beautiful evening, so we rushed home, she finished all her homework, and I loaded her bike onto the car. I packed a bag with some water and a couple snacks and we made our way to Lorimer Park. Before we took off down the trail, I wanted to take a selfie, but I was so excited that I forgot my helmet, so there are two selfies. As soon as I finished the picture she took off down the path. Fortunately I was able to catch up, phone in hand, to take a few pictures as we cruised down the trail. I am a mostly competent bike rider, but trying to pay attention to her, and the trail, and keep myself upright while holding my phone was tricky. So, I decided to take some video where, for the most part, I could rest my hand on the handlebars. She is so good a...

Baby Shower

Today the family was headed to George and Amanda's baby shower. Before we even got ready, I was playing with Zoe in bed. She was just sitting on my stomach, staring at her feet and drooling. Here are a few pictures. After play time, we had to get ready to head out. Zoe wore a nice dress, even if it was a little big on her. I took a picture of her in it before we left, then a bunch more of her while we were outside. Take a look and Zoe and Cheryl together. They're so cute! Those two are so gorgeous on their own that they become simply stunning when put together. I just can't get enough. Anyway, if you take a look at all of these, and more, in Zoe's set on Flickr, you can see all of the detail in the drool. It's really quite amazing.
