Sesame Place

This past weekend Zoe met up with Lilly at Sesame Place. It was the first time Lilly had been there and the first time Zoe was able to walk around the park by herself. It was kind of a brisk day, so they both stayed fairly bundled. Because of the timing, the park was decorated for Halloween. Both kids were great in posing right as we made our way in to take a few pictures.



From there, we went to the carousel. This is generally hit or miss with Zoe depending on her mood. Today was more of a miss, but she brightened up as soon as mommy took her off the terrifying, moving horse.



After that, we made our way to see Elmo's World Live. It wasn't the happiest experience for Lilly, but I don't think either of them were too enthused. Zoe had a brief encounter with the large, blue pyramid that Annabelle loved so much. Once that was done, we made our way past a few more decorations, snapped a few more pictures and called it a day.



Overall, it was a good day. We're looking forward to many more visits next year, when the weather is warmer. Be sure to take a look at Zoe's set on Flickr to see even more pictures.

Girls Night Out Dance

Zoe has her first dance at school, the Girls Night Out Dance, where she brought me as her date. It had been quite some time since I was at such a formal affair, but thankfully I was still able to squeeze in to my suit. Zoe looked as gorgeous as her mother with her fancy clothes, her makeup, and the big bow in her hair. We took a few pictures before we left for the dance, just to capture the moment. I drove us over to the school, and we arrived right on time, beating the crowd. A few of Zoe's friends were there, and before they turned the lights off, I took one, not-so-good, picture. It is nice to know that, as time goes by, some things never change. There was very little dancing for the two of us at the dance. She was very interested in the snacks (treats), the lights that were on the tables, but mostly in the pull up bar at the back of the gym. Election Day

When Zoe was born, Barack Obama was the president. Today the country is voting to determine who will be president for the next four years. It will still be a long time before Zoe gets to cast her own vote, but when Cheryl got home today, the two of them went around the corner to our voting center and did their civic duty. Cheryl took a couple of pictures. The girls are asleep now, and the race is still too close to call, but I assume when we get up tomorrow (hopefully not in the middle of the night) we'll know who who won. I hope everyone got out to vote today! As you can see by her sticker, Zoe did.

Paris - Day Five: Louvre, More Gardens, Photobooths, Macaroons, Love

Today was scheduled to be a somewhat random day. We didn't have anything specific we were planning to do, meaning no pre-purchased tickets, but a number of stops to make and things to see. The first stop on our list for the day was a photobooth that was out near Moulin Rouge. It was in a giant, open gallery space where there were people dancing and vendors selling food. We found the booth and took a few pictures. Right near the booth there was an old trailer of some sort that was converted in to a little library. Since Zoe loves books, even if they're in a language she doesn't read, she went in and browsed the selection. She then said she'd like one of these for our house back home. We'll see what we can do. She didn't actually take the book with us, but she wanted to pose with it.
