Mother's Day 2014

For Mother's Day we were heading up to Doylestown for baby John's baptism. In looking around the area, a colleague of mine had mentioned that he takes his daughter to a place called Kid's Castle. This castle happened to be about 10 minutes from the church, so we packed in to the car early and went up there. It was impressive. Take a look.



The place was great and because it was the holiday, there were very few people there. Everyone seemed to enjoy it; however, Dara wasn't too keen on strangers. Just check out the look I was getting.



Hopefully next time she'll warm up a little bit. Either way, I look forward to heading back up there to climb around and go through the longest, twisty slide I have ever seen.

    Oh my goodness! This is CASTLE PARK! I used to take Jake here all the time, it is not far from my parent's house. Jake and I have been telling G for years we have to take him here. Now YOU can tell him how much he is missing out on as well!

Election Day

When Zoe was born, Barack Obama was the president. Today the country is voting to determine who will be president for the next four years. It will still be a long time before Zoe gets to cast her own vote, but when Cheryl got home today, the two of them went around the corner to our voting center and did their civic duty. The girls are asleep now, and the race is still too close to call, but I assume when we get up tomorrow (hopefully not in the middle of the night) we'll know who who won. Italy - Day 6 - Rome

Since this was our last full day in Rome, we decided to head towards Vatican City. After crossing a bridge, we made our way down the steps to follow the Tiber because Zoe wanted to explore closer to the water. Approaching the Vatican, we stopped just out of smoting range, for Cheryl's protection, before deciding that the view from the gates would suffice. From there we decided we would head out to try some very highly recommended pizza from Bonci. Zoe had to make a stop along the way for some gelato and a bathroom break, which was great because it took an hour to get our food. That being said, it was totally worth the wait! The pizza was amazing and the deep fried pasta balls were bizarre and delicious. While Cheryl was waiting, Zoe and I bought from fresh fruit and vegetables so that she would have something to eat. Italy - Day 2 - Rome

Waking up in Rome to the sound of industrial work, we decided that today we would focus on Villa Borghese and all it has to offer, primarily a row boat rental. On the way there we passed by Piazza del Popolo where we took a few pictures. Zoe grabbed a phone and snapped a few for us, too! Once in the park we made a beeline for the boat rental. Along that line there were fountains and flowers we had never seen before, so we stopped for a quick look. My favorite is Zoe taking her own selfies. She makes such wonderful faces. Making our way through all of the distractions, we found the lake that surrounds the Temple of Asclepius and rented a boat. We all hopped in and I rowed us out into the water, but it wasn't long before Zoe insisted that she could paddle the boat, so we swapped spots and the cutest boat captain took over.
