A Lot of Snow and a Few Cookies

We got a LOT of snow this weekend. I don't think Zoe has ever seen snow like this before. First, we had to dig out of the house. She was excited just to stand in the little path.

Next she wanted to taste it, to make sure the snow was fresh. Of course we directed her to only eat the snow on the top and to avoid any snow that was yellow.

She thought it was delicious. Then the snow starting flying. To be fair, I believe that I started it.

Once tensions settled it was time for snow angels. Zoe was quick to flop right down in the snow and start moving her arms and legs. I don't think she has ever done this before, but she took to it like a natural.

Finally, before heading back inside, we dug out a little fort. From our defended position, we could easily throw snow at mommy without being hit from her snow. It was awesome!

When we got inside Zoe wanted to make some cookies. Cheryl rolled out the dough and let Zoe cut the cookies out. Once they were baked we all had some to decorate. Zoe did an excellent job making and eating the cookies.

With the amount of snow that we got, I'm sure we'll have several more snow days to enjoy in the near future.

Meet the Flintstones?!?

Cheryl wanted me to share the following with everyone. These are her words, not mine. Frankly, I know I'm the lucky one. So obviously the blog is Michael's thing, which is great really because if it were up to me it would have started and ended with 99 days left! But I wanted to make a post so I could thank Michael for everything he has done for me throughout this pregnancy and most of all during delivery. There is no question that being with Michael is the smartest thing I've ever done and Zoe is lucky to call him Dad. The reason we had a planned c-section was that Zoe was 'unstable lie'. In the 4 weeks before she was due she was breech, head down, breech, and then head down again. As it was explained to us, this is pretty rare. They expected that even if she was in the right position when I went into labor, she would turn during contractions creating a dangerous situation for all of us. The day of surgery I was still pretty calm. Once I was prepp...

Florida or Bust

Last week we all flew down to Florida to visit with Nana and Poppy. We didn't take off until Zoe had a nice helping of scrambled eggs from the airport. She loves scrambled eggs! This wasn't Zoe's first flight and she was a dream. She slept for more than half of the flight there. Once we were down there,we did our best to take advantage of the weather. Back in Philadelphia the high was in the mid-40's and it was going to snow, but in Hudson it was in the 70's. We took plenty of walks in the neighborhood. Zoe was also enjoying Nana's large tub. She really loves the water. During our visit we took an outing to Weeki Wachee Springs State Park . I found this place online because they have a live mermaid show. Along with that there were peacocks, an animal show and a river boat ride. Zoe seemed to enjoy it all. There is a heated pool in Nana and Poppy's community, which I was anxious to take Zoe to. She's never really been in a pool bef...

Election Day

When Zoe was born, Barack Obama was the president. Today the country is voting to determine who will be president for the next four years. It will still be a long time before Zoe gets to cast her own vote, but when Cheryl got home today, the two of them went around the corner to our voting center and did their civic duty. Cheryl took a couple of pictures. The girls are asleep now, and the race is still too close to call, but I assume when we get up tomorrow (hopefully not in the middle of the night) we'll know who who won. I hope everyone got out to vote today! As you can see by her sticker, Zoe did.
