Aquarium and the Movies

Zoe hadn't been to the aquarium, better known as the fish museum, in quite some time. This past Saturday Cheryl took her there and she enjoyed it just as much as she always did. She really enjoyed posing with the statues of the animals.

After that, it was on to the hippos. When I saw the first picture, I wanted to ask when they let the kids pet them. Then I realized there was glass between them.

Before they left, Cheryl made sure to take a quick selfie.

I really love my two gorgeous girls. Zoe's daycare was closed on Monday, so I took the day off to hang out with Little Miss. I decided that we would go up to see The Peanuts movie. Zoe was excited to get her usual of a large popcorn and a blue ICEE. Here she is enjoying both with Rainbow Dash.

She was very well behaved, but we didn't stay for the whole movie. I'm not sure if it just didn't appeal to her, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Election Day

When Zoe was born, Barack Obama was the president. Today the country is voting to determine who will be president for the next four years. It will still be a long time before Zoe gets to cast her own vote, but when Cheryl got home today, the two of them went around the corner to our voting center and did their civic duty. Cheryl took a couple of pictures. The girls are asleep now, and the race is still too close to call, but I assume when we get up tomorrow (hopefully not in the middle of the night) we'll know who who won. I hope everyone got out to vote today! As you can see by her sticker, Zoe did.

Riding Together for the First Time

Today my bike was finally fixed, so I picked it up from the shop before picking Zoe up from Science Club. When she saw my bike she was very excited to go for a ride. It was overcast all day, but the weather held out and it was a beautiful evening, so we rushed home, she finished all her homework, and I loaded her bike onto the car. I packed a bag with some water and a couple snacks and we made our way to Lorimer Park. Before we took off down the trail, I wanted to take a selfie, but I was so excited that I forgot my helmet, so there are two selfies. As soon as I finished the picture she took off down the path. Fortunately I was able to catch up, phone in hand, to take a few pictures as we cruised down the trail. I am a mostly competent bike rider, but trying to pay attention to her, and the trail, and keep myself upright while holding my phone was tricky. Italy - Day 6 - Rome

Since this was our last full day in Rome, we decided to head towards Vatican City. After crossing a bridge, we made our way down the steps to follow the Tiber because Zoe wanted to explore closer to the water. Approaching the Vatican, we stopped just out of smoting range, for Cheryl's protection, before deciding that the view from the gates would suffice. From there we decided we would head out to try some very highly recommended pizza from Bonci. Zoe had to make a stop along the way for some gelato and a bathroom break, which was great because it took an hour to get our food. That being said, it was totally worth the wait! The pizza was amazing and the deep fried pasta balls were bizarre and delicious. While Cheryl was waiting, Zoe and I bought from fresh fruit and vegetables so that she would have something to eat.
