Temporary Tattoos

While shopping at Target one day, Cheryl and Zoe spied a pack of markers that were specifically for drawing on skin. we brought them home and sort of forgot about them until the other day when we decided that we would all get some temporary tattoos. For some reason I drew the short straw and went first.

Be warned, if you're about to eat a meal or have a weak constitution, look away.

Zoe was told that she could draw whatever she wanted, so she drew a drink with a lime on the rim of the glass. It looked really good! Next up was Cheryl, who was getting some extra ink under the permanent tattoos she already has. Zoe decided on a unicorn.

Notice how when she concentrates really hard on her work, her tongue pops out. She gets that from her mother. When Cheryl and I were done, it was Zoe's turn.

Zoe got flowers on one leg and a cartoon cactus on the other one. After a few days, Cheryl's tattoo was still going strong.

The marker didn't wash off as easily as we thought, so my plan to give myself face tattoos for a Post Malone costume won't happen, but I'm sure there will be other temporary tattoos in our future. Check out the Flickr album to see more tattoo pictures.

Election Day

When Zoe was born, Barack Obama was the president. Today the country is voting to determine who will be president for the next four years. It will still be a long time before Zoe gets to cast her own vote, but when Cheryl got home today, the two of them went around the corner to our voting center and did their civic duty. Cheryl took a couple of pictures. The girls are asleep now, and the race is still too close to call, but I assume when we get up tomorrow (hopefully not in the middle of the night) we'll know who who won. I hope everyone got out to vote today! As you can see by her sticker, Zoe did.

Riding Together for the First Time

Today my bike was finally fixed, so I picked it up from the shop before picking Zoe up from Science Club. When she saw my bike she was very excited to go for a ride. It was overcast all day, but the weather held out and it was a beautiful evening, so we rushed home, she finished all her homework, and I loaded her bike onto the car. I packed a bag with some water and a couple snacks and we made our way to Lorimer Park. Before we took off down the trail, I wanted to take a selfie, but I was so excited that I forgot my helmet, so there are two selfies. As soon as I finished the picture she took off down the path. Fortunately I was able to catch up, phone in hand, to take a few pictures as we cruised down the trail. I am a mostly competent bike rider, but trying to pay attention to her, and the trail, and keep myself upright while holding my phone was tricky. So, I decided to take some video where, for the most part, I could rest my hand on the handlebars. She is so good a...

Baby Shower

Today the family was headed to George and Amanda's baby shower. Before we even got ready, I was playing with Zoe in bed. She was just sitting on my stomach, staring at her feet and drooling. Here are a few pictures. After play time, we had to get ready to head out. Zoe wore a nice dress, even if it was a little big on her. I took a picture of her in it before we left, then a bunch more of her while we were outside. Take a look and Zoe and Cheryl together. They're so cute! Those two are so gorgeous on their own that they become simply stunning when put together. I just can't get enough. Anyway, if you take a look at all of these, and more, in Zoe's set on Flickr, you can see all of the detail in the drool. It's really quite amazing.
