Down on the Farm

We went to Linvilla to get some pumpkins and hang out with the animals. There were a lot of Halloween-themed items around and our little witch posed for a few pictures.

She just needs to learn how to look at the camera when she's smiling, but we're almost there. Even though it wasn't in line with the upcoming holiday, Zoe did have her first pony ride. She was hesitant at first, because neither mommy nor daddy was able to walk with her, but she made it all the way around without jumping off.

After that we made our way over to the pumpkins so we could pick some out. There was a hay bale chair, as well as some wooden crates, that made for good spots to stop and take some pictures. I made sure to interfere in some of those.

Once we got the pumpkins home, a few days later Zoe asked to do some painting. We wound up with a lot of beautiful pumpkin art throughout the house.

Oh yeah, and there was glitter. Lots and lots of glitter. Seriously, you have no idea how much glitter was all over those pumpkins and our house. As always, there are plenty more pictures available on Flickr.

Election Day

When Zoe was born, Barack Obama was the president. Today the country is voting to determine who will be president for the next four years. It will still be a long time before Zoe gets to cast her own vote, but when Cheryl got home today, the two of them went around the corner to our voting center and did their civic duty. Cheryl took a couple of pictures. The girls are asleep now, and the race is still too close to call, but I assume when we get up tomorrow (hopefully not in the middle of the night) we'll know who who won. I hope everyone got out to vote today! As you can see by her sticker, Zoe did.

Riding Together for the First Time

Today my bike was finally fixed, so I picked it up from the shop before picking Zoe up from Science Club. When she saw my bike she was very excited to go for a ride. It was overcast all day, but the weather held out and it was a beautiful evening, so we rushed home, she finished all her homework, and I loaded her bike onto the car. I packed a bag with some water and a couple snacks and we made our way to Lorimer Park. Before we took off down the trail, I wanted to take a selfie, but I was so excited that I forgot my helmet, so there are two selfies. As soon as I finished the picture she took off down the path. Fortunately I was able to catch up, phone in hand, to take a few pictures as we cruised down the trail. I am a mostly competent bike rider, but trying to pay attention to her, and the trail, and keep myself upright while holding my phone was tricky. So, I decided to take some video where, for the most part, I could rest my hand on the handlebars. She is so good a...

Visit from Nana and Poppy

To make sure she didn't forget about her parent's birthday's, Cheryl gave them their presents on the day of the baby shower. For her father, she got a nice webcam so that we could Skype with them to interact with Zoe. A few weeks ago we had done that for the first time and it actually worked out really well. So on Monday, April 2nd, Cheryl's parents came up from Florida to meet Zoe face to face for the first time. On one day Cheryl and Zoe went to Clark Park with Nana and Poppy. Later in the week Cheryl's sister Debbie came by with her daughters, Zoe's cousins, Ashlee and Taylor. Just before they left, Cheryl remembered to take a picture. Here's Zoe with her cousin Taylor. As always, you can find all of these pictures and more in Zoe's Set on Flickr.
