Some Bunny Likes The Mall

Now that we have moved out to the burbs, we are very close to the Willow Grove Mall. It is a wonderful place with plenty of stores, places to eat and holiday related activities. Along with all of that, they also have a carousel, which Zoe enjoys to ride.

One of her favorite stores in the mall is one that sells beanbag-like pillows of all shapes and sizes. She enjoys making up a bed, lying down, flopping around and general play, which all of the employees seem to tolerate.

Oh, the things she gets away with because she is adorable. When we were there on our last trip, the Easter Bunny was hanging out for pictures. Mixed in with him was an entire Alice in Wonderland setup complete with backdrop, silly hats and masks on sticks and Alice herself.

On top of all that, Zoe actually requested to sit on the bunny's lap for a picture. We couldn't believe it, but it's true.

It is great to see her showing such bravery in the face of terrifying people in furry costumes. I can't wait to go back for some more carousel rides!

Election Day

When Zoe was born, Barack Obama was the president. Today the country is voting to determine who will be president for the next four years. It will still be a long time before Zoe gets to cast her own vote, but when Cheryl got home today, the two of them went around the corner to our voting center and did their civic duty. Cheryl took a couple of pictures. The girls are asleep now, and the race is still too close to call, but I assume when we get up tomorrow (hopefully not in the middle of the night) we'll know who who won. I hope everyone got out to vote today! As you can see by her sticker, Zoe did.

Italy - Day 6 - Rome

Since this was our last full day in Rome, we decided to head towards Vatican City. After crossing a bridge, we made our way down the steps to follow the Tiber because Zoe wanted to explore closer to the water. Approaching the Vatican, we stopped just out of smoting range, for Cheryl's protection, before deciding that the view from the gates would suffice. From there we decided we would head out to try some very highly recommended pizza from Bonci. Zoe had to make a stop along the way for some gelato and a bathroom break, which was great because it took an hour to get our food. That being said, it was totally worth the wait! The pizza was amazing and the deep fried pasta balls were bizarre and delicious. While Cheryl was waiting, Zoe and I bought from fresh fruit and vegetables so that she would have something to eat. Italy - Day 2 - Rome

Waking up in Rome to the sound of industrial work, we decided that today we would focus on Villa Borghese and all it has to offer, primarily a row boat rental. On the way there we passed by Piazza del Popolo where we took a few pictures. Zoe grabbed a phone and snapped a few for us, too! Once in the park we made a beeline for the boat rental. Along that line there were fountains and flowers we had never seen before, so we stopped for a quick look. My favorite is Zoe taking her own selfies. She makes such wonderful faces. Making our way through all of the distractions, we found the lake that surrounds the Temple of Asclepius and rented a boat. We all hopped in and I rowed us out into the water, but it wasn't long before Zoe insisted that she could paddle the boat, so we swapped spots and the cutest boat captain took over.
