Thankfully our Roman industrial machine alarm clock went off this morning, so we woke up before the alarms we set even had a chance to go off. Cheryl ran out to get us all some breakfast so we could start the day off right. It was all so delicious.
The first stop on today's list was the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome. The walk there took us past some interesting buildings. There was also a number of running water fountains that Zoe couldn't help but immerse her hands in. There may have also been a quasi-legal Vespa sitting, because Zoe really wants one of those little scooters and Cheryl was very enthusiastic about them, too.
Arriving at the museum, there were some neon lights in the glass elevator that led into the space. After walking around for a bit, Zoe asked where all of the art was, and she wasn't wrong. Pieces were limited. That being the case, she sat down at a desk and decided to make some of her own art. The turkeys were very colorful but my favorite was the one titled "Hey." Eventually we made our way to the roof, where there were some cool murals, but that was about it.
From there we made our way over to the Quartiere Coppedè, which was supposed to have some fairy tale style buildings. On the way there a few more Vespa sittings occurred. There was also a little balance beam action along the guardrails.
It is hard to capture how interesting the buildings are to see in person. The neighborhood is very pretty and all of the adornments on the buildings are eye catching.
Since we were already so close, we decided to go back to Villa Borghese. As we entered the park we stopped to pick up a few sweet treats. Once those were devoured we decided to rent a big, bench seat bike to see more. Zoe was upset that her legs, while long, were not long enough to reach the pedals, but once she realized that meant should could hang off the side of the bike while Cheryl and I pedaled around, she perked up significantly.
Cheryl took a break from the bike, which left Zoe and I to ride around the park. We made our way back to bloaty froggy, the dead frog from the other day, and a few other stops before picking Cheryl up. I dropped the two of them off across the street, to save a few steps, and then we all went home. After a little rest we went out for dinner at a restaurant called Queen B. We had some great food and drinks. Zoe ate real chicken tenders crusted with corn flakes, which she loved. We also played another round of our game, this time with cards we made from the placements. I'll give you one guess as to who made the fart card.
Once dinner was done we went south across the Tiber to check out a bar, but apparently Zoe was too young to hang out. Thankfully this wasn't an issue because the place down the street did not mind Zoe hanging out. When we were finished our drinks, Zoe was carried home by not one, but two parents!
That brought the fourth day to a close. We all went to bed very tired, but you can check out Flickr to see all of the pictures of Fiats and Zoe hanging on door knockers that you missed.
