10 Weeks Already?

10 weeks ago today Zoe was born. It's hard to believe that so much time has gone by already. Thinking about it, how it has been a while, but not really that long, it seems like a blur, but as I sit here working on her baby book, trying to decide which of daddy's memories to share, things are coming back. Like how the first movie Zoe and I watched together was Die Hard, which may have been highly inappropriate, but it was edited for TV and she slept though most of it. Then there was the time I was changing her in the hospital with the assistance of Becky (Aunt Viento) and Zoe pooped on me for the first time.

Ahhh, memories.

Anyway, this past Sunday we went into New Hope to meet Orly and Anton. It seemed like a great idea at the time; however, it quickly dawned on us that on Sunday, New Hope is a crowded place and probably not the best place to bring a newborn. Regardless, we still had a great time. Zoe got to sit with her dad in the shade as well as droll profusely all over his arm.

While I have been at home, John had been visiting with Zoe, Cheryl and me. On Tuesday night he actually came by and watched Zoe while Cheryl and I went out for a quick dinner nearby. The two of them had a great time just lounging on the couch watching TV. Sadly, there aren't any other pictures, but needless to say, Zoe had a good time.

Along with all of that, Zoe turned 2 months old on the 15th. I had tried to take the pictures that day, and then the following weekend, but the lighting and weather never seemed to work out. I did finally manage to get a couple of good shots this week, which have been posted to Zoe's set and which you can see here.

Italy - Day 8 - Florence

We only had one full day in Florence, so we wanted to make the most of it. Getting up at a reasonable hour, we made our way down to the market for some breakfast. There were lots of baked goods, a truffle omelette sandwich, and plenty of fruit for Zoe, all of it fresh and delicious. Fueled up and good to go, we made our way to the first stop on our list, Giotto's Bell Tower. On the way we saw some street art, bought Zoe a new hat, and Zoe mailed out one of her first postcards. Arriving in the square, there were hundreds of people packed around the bell tower. No matter how far away I stood, I couldn't get the entire structure in frame, but it was awesome to see up close. We continued our trek south past the carousel towards the bronze boar. People were lined up to take pictures, rub it's snout and drop some money into the fountain for luck. Once our pictures were taken and our luck secured, we made our way through the leather vendors to check out some more bui

A Couple Of Visits

This past weekend the Carusos flew home on Friday. John and Annabelle took a later flight and actually spent Friday evening with us here at casa de Shelreno. It wasn't a long stay, but it is always nice to see my goddaughter. Her and Zoe had fun playing with the grill and then enjoyed a lovely breakfast together the following morning. You can tell they're good friends by the goofy faces they make together. On Sunday, I packed Zoe up in the car to take a trip up to Langhorne to visit with Mimi and Joe Pop. We went with Mimi to a nearby park. Apart from smacking her head right into the side of a picnic table, she learned to drive some cars. She already seems to have a little road rage. After that we went back to the house to ice her head... er... I mean, so she could take a nap. She was super tired, but when she woke up she was full of energy. Joe Pop was home and he showed her around the animals in his room, including the dogs. I think she was a little excited to see

Italy - Day 6 - Rome

Since this was our last full day in Rome, we decided to head towards Vatican City. After crossing a bridge, we made our way down the steps to follow the Tiber because Zoe wanted to explore closer to the water. Approaching the Vatican, we stopped just out of smoting range, for Cheryl's protection, before deciding that the view from the gates would suffice. From there we decided we would head out to try some very highly recommended pizza from Bonci. Zoe had to make a stop along the way for some gelato and a bathroom break, which was great because it took an hour to get our food. That being said, it was totally worth the wait! The pizza was amazing and the deep fried pasta balls were bizarre and delicious. While Cheryl was waiting, Zoe and I bought from fresh fruit and vegetables so that she would have something to eat. After a late lunch, we decided to make our way home. As we were about to cross the river, we passed Castle San Angelo and decided to make a stop. Thi
