Out and About

So last Saturday, April 28th, we had decided to head up to Fishtown for Shad Fest. Before we went out, Zoe was happy to just lay in my lap, so I took a few pictures. Afterwards, we had a lovely breakfast prepared lovingly by Cheryl.

The weather was a bit cold, but at least it didn't rain. There were some vendors, live music and a lot of good friends. Sadly, Zoe slept through the whole thing and we didn't get any pictures. On Tuesday I took the day off from work and the three of us went down to the Franklin Institute. I'm not sure that Zoe got much out of the trip, but we had a good time while we were there. After we left the institute, we walked down the the art museum and back to enjoy the excellent weather.

Finally, as everyone knows, today was Free Comic Book Day. With that, I made sure to bring Zoe to our favorite, local comic shop to take part. I needed to make sure everyone knew she was excited, so I put on her Wonder Woman bib. She's my little super heroine.

As always, all of these pictures and more are available in Zoe's set on Flickr.

Election Day

When Zoe was born, Barack Obama was the president. Today the country is voting to determine who will be president for the next four years. It will still be a long time before Zoe gets to cast her own vote, but when Cheryl got home today, the two of them went around the corner to our voting center and did their civic duty. Cheryl took a couple of pictures. The girls are asleep now, and the race is still too close to call, but I assume when we get up tomorrow (hopefully not in the middle of the night) we'll know who who won. I hope everyone got out to vote today! As you can see by her sticker, Zoe did.

Riding Together for the First Time

Today my bike was finally fixed, so I picked it up from the shop before picking Zoe up from Science Club. When she saw my bike she was very excited to go for a ride. It was overcast all day, but the weather held out and it was a beautiful evening, so we rushed home, she finished all her homework, and I loaded her bike onto the car. I packed a bag with some water and a couple snacks and we made our way to Lorimer Park. Before we took off down the trail, I wanted to take a selfie, but I was so excited that I forgot my helmet, so there are two selfies. As soon as I finished the picture she took off down the path. Fortunately I was able to catch up, phone in hand, to take a few pictures as we cruised down the trail. I am a mostly competent bike rider, but trying to pay attention to her, and the trail, and keep myself upright while holding my phone was tricky. So, I decided to take some video where, for the most part, I could rest my hand on the handlebars. She is so good a...

Visit from Nana and Poppy

To make sure she didn't forget about her parent's birthday's, Cheryl gave them their presents on the day of the baby shower. For her father, she got a nice webcam so that we could Skype with them to interact with Zoe. A few weeks ago we had done that for the first time and it actually worked out really well. So on Monday, April 2nd, Cheryl's parents came up from Florida to meet Zoe face to face for the first time. On one day Cheryl and Zoe went to Clark Park with Nana and Poppy. Later in the week Cheryl's sister Debbie came by with her daughters, Zoe's cousins, Ashlee and Taylor. Just before they left, Cheryl remembered to take a picture. Here's Zoe with her cousin Taylor. As always, you can find all of these pictures and more in Zoe's Set on Flickr.
